I try to keep my carbs within 30 minutes of starting. I would think that after 4 hours, the effects would not be there. They tell you to take 2 pills immedeately before eating, with a max of 4 pills per day. I've only did the 4 pills daily a couple times, usually stay nice and keto for the other meal.
