The adjustable arms extend to 22.5 inches and can be used to wash meat, although a sanitize wash may be necessary. The product is made in China and some customers have experienced rusting of the screws that attach the sliding arms to the frame. It is not dishwasher safe because of these screws, which has been a disappointment for some customers who purchased it for this capability. However, overall, the colander is well-made and sturdy, and customers appreciate its quality and style.
