I’m 5’2” and we will take turns driving.Answer : I’m 6’1” and with the seat post raised to its maximum extension, the seat was 4 inches too low. I made it fit with an extra long seat post and 11-inch riser handlebars. It can be done, but not with stock parts.
- Question : Is the “free assembly” included on the pacific duelie tandem bicycle? is the completion setup by a local bicycle mechanic included with the purchase?Answer : Assembly is pretty easy. Just mount the seats and handlebars. The controls were already setup. A few basic tools were all that’s needed.
- Question : Can the seats be changed out with more padded seats?Answer : Yes, same as you would change the seat on any other bike
- Question : What is the maximum weight of riders?Answer : Me 100 kg my wife 65 kg. It’s OK.
- Question : How do we transport?Answer : It is a long bike but it does fit on my little trunk rack. I remove the wheels and it doesn’t stick out too much even using my VW Passat. The way my road bike sits on that rack, it sticks out just as much but only on one side (with wheels on of course).
- Question : What is the maximum psi that these tires will allow? wondering about this bike for an entry-level long-distance (70-100 mile) ride bike. thoughts?Answer : 40-65 psi is what’s on the tire. We run ours at 65-70 and haven’t had any issues. However, for that length of ride you may want to consider different slick tire and lighter tubes if it’s a road ride. The stock tires are more mtn or trail oriented, very slow rolling and weigh 850 grams each plus 170g tubes which doesn’t help on pavement.
