The filter works for a 16-gallon saltwater tank and can be accompanied by using different lily pipes or a wake-maker for proper current. To ensure that the nutrients from the liquid fertilizer are not removed, one should remove the activated carbon from the filter. If the filter does not heat up properly, the manufacturer has excellent customer service for replacements. Cleaning the filter requires disconnecting from the mains, and users suggested laying down a towel and using a small bucket of warm water to squeeze the filter sponges. The OASE FiltoSmart Thermo 100 tubing measures 1/2 inches by 8 feet.
