- Easy Filter Replacement - The built-in shut-off bypass valve allows you to change filters witout turning off your water supply, and the pressure release button allows for quick, easy filter replacements. Uses universal 2.5 inch replacement cartridges (sold separately.)

- Question : What is the maximum temperature rating for this filter?Answer : NEVER SHOULD A FILTER BE INSTALLED AFTER A WATER HEATER OF ANY KIND, COLD WATER ONLY...
- Question : I install this outside and the filter it’s turning green is that normal?Answer : No but I would replace the filter. It is possible there is too much copper in your water.
- Question : Part number for this item?Answer : The blue handle on top of the unit should be pointed to the right when on.
- Question : Can the handle be replaced?Answer : No, the way it is made would require the whole unit to be replaced.
- Question : Can you get a metal screen filter that will fit this unit that you can take out and wash off and replace?Answer : No, this unit only uses paper or fiber filters.
- Question : Is the mounting bracket going to compromise a snug leakproof fit btw a male threaded PVC adapter screwed into the female threaded metal inlet/outlet?Answer : Not at all. It’s a pretty solid unit however, I’m using it with water hose connections on my 5th wheel.
- Question : How on Earth can you unmount this to redo fittings to prevent a leak without having to cut it out of the PVC and couple it back in with New PVC?Answer : Use a union on either side.

The AO Smith Whole House Water Filter has received positive customer reviews with most customers stating that it works great, no leaks and is easy to install. One customer mentioned that the filter is transparent and helps to maintain the taste and cleanliness of water in RV parks. Another customer mentioned that it can be installed before entering any other device in a city water situation and recommended UV filters for additional safe water Consumption. Additionally, the customers recommended using a pressure gauge before and after the filter and marked a maximum limit for filter replacement before excessive pressure was achieved. Another customer commented that the filter media can be purchased in bulk for a decent price. However, one customer mentioned that the filter turned green when installed outside but it was not normal and recommended replacing the filter.
