    Answer : The QSPD is listed for use in any Siemens load center that lists the Type QP breaker. The LC3040B1100 lists the use of MP-T breakers which are now Siemens QP type. We have a UL letter stating QP can be used in place of MP-T, for a copy of this letter, send an email to productselection.us@siemens.com.

    Answer : Yes.
  • Question : Does this protect against low voltage?
    Answer : No. Which is part of the problem with surge protectors of this kind. In a low voltage condition, there are frequent power spikes that are sufficient to blow out sensitive electronics, but the peak of the spike is too low to cause these surge protectors to trigger. It is the amplitude of the spike that damages electronics, not the maximum voltage.
  • Question : What is the difference between 2 pole and 3 pole?
    Answer : Most residential panels would use a 2 pole surge protector. The 3 pole would be used if you have 208V ​three-phase power.
  • Question : Does it provide protection for wires or for devices?
    Answer : Protects all from outside surge. Does not protect from surge generated after panel.
  • Question : Does this fit GE panels?
    Answer : No, this unit is listed for use in Siemens load centers only. Cannot be used in GE equipment.

    Answer : My understanding is that it will provide some protection no matter where you put it but it will perform the best when installed in the first two slots.
