The Cuisinart Smashed Burger Press is a cast iron press made in China. The bottom is somewhat rough but completely flat, and the handle is made of a protected wooden piece either painted black or stained. The product is recommended for use with oil like sunflower oil, and to keep it dry after brushing it clean. Although users agree that it is durable and has a good weight and size, some customers have been disappointed by the fact that the paint chipped off from the edges and that it rusted easily. It works great for pressing raw meat or bacon, but some customers are not sure why it is cast iron since they still need to wash it with soap, which violates cast iron cleaning rules.
