- Question : Is Quartz Gravel safe for aquarium use?Answer : Yes, it is 100% natural and aquarium safe.

- Question : What is the size of each grain?Answer : They very from the size of a grain of sand to maybe 3-4x a grain of sand- less than the size of a piece of rice.
- Question : Could this be used with an undergravel filter?Answer : I don’t think an under gravel filter will work. The grains are pretty small. One step up or two from sand.
- Question : Can this be cleaned with a regular gravel siphon? Or will it clog it up?Answer : Because it's so small not much gets under it. For cleaning just run a hose over top of it to suck of the waste on top.
- Question : Does it form air pockets ?Answer : No, not that I noticed. I have a tire track eel that’s burrows in. Never notice air pocket forming.
- Question : Why is it not recommended for bottom feeders?Answer : My bottom feeders are been perfectly fine with it, but the substrate contains plastic. Do research, cycle your tank and filter, maintain and test water parameters.
- Question : Is this the same as Fluval Stratum?Answer : No, Fluval Stratum is an aquasoil made for planted tanks. This is basically a very fine black gravel mix, not an aquasoil.
- Question : Can this be used with Cory catfish?Answer : I wouldn’t use it. This substrate contains plastic. I use Fluorite. I have snails and other bottom feeders as well.

AquaNatural DIAMOND010 Gravel Editorial Review
AquaNatural Diamond Black is a premium gravel and substrate for aquariums, fish tanks and terrariums. The tiny grains of the substrate shimmer in certain lighting creating a nice effect in the tank. However, customers reported that the substrate is not evenly black and has mixed-in tan and gray particles. To ensure the water does not become cloudy, the substrate needs to be rinsed multiple times before adding it to the tank. Some reviewers stated that the bag is not washed properly and produces a massive amount of black dust and film on the water surface. The substrate contains plastic, making it unsuitable for use with certain bottom feeders such as Cory catfish. However, some bottom feeders such as shrimp, snails, clown Pleco, and musk turtles have been successfully kept with this substrate. Overall, if you do your research, cycle your tank, filter properly, and maintain it regularly, you should be able to have a good experience with this product.
