It is just a thin piece of foam-like substance with ridges in it. Very cheaply made.

No, there isn’t. When you select size, it asks you what your normal size is and how the shoe fits.

Birkenstock’s are not wide enough for my wide feet. Will the wide on these be wider than regular Birkenstock’s?

The narrow was wider than expected, so you can try the wide size for a better fit.

Are these washable with an air dry?

If needed, hand wipe with a damp washcloth.

How much wider is the footbed of an 8 regular and an 8 wide?

Not sure, but if you feel a slight rubbing on the ridge around the perimeter of the sole, you can try a wider size or 8.5.
