If the hook eye on the swing set at the playground is a size that the S hook will fit then yes the swing will work.

Do I need a swing set or can I hang it from my deck?

We hung it from a steel clothesline pole until the swing set was up. I’m not sure I’d trust decking however. This holds a small child and it may not seem like much weight but when it’s in motion with a toddler in it, you need to make sure it will hold up.

Did this swing just get recalled?

Yes, there was a recall. Go to their website and check which model number. I believe it was for 2014 models with a certain serial number.

How does it hang indoors?

This swing is intended to hang on an existing swingset over a resilient surface to prevent injury. Using it otherwise would not be recommended for safety reasons.
