He draws ideas from three very useful intellectual pools: classical management practices, Agile methods, and lean product development. By combining the strengths of these three approaches, he has produced something that works better than any one in isolation.

This book is highly recommended for managers and software leads who want to learn how to apply agile methodologies to large-scale corporations. The book explains Dean's reasons and rational behind the SAFe methodology and lean agile practices. It's relevant beyond theory, well-written, and covers all aspects from a variety of directions. However, it is a bit long in the tooth, and all figures aren't well rendered in Kindle. It is particularly helpful to anyone trying to use SAFe 4.0 in their office. The author, Dean Leffingwell, is Considered the leading expert in Agile processes, making this a great book to read. It covers from basic concepts of software requirements to portfolio, program, and team level agile delivery development model. Some had trouble downloading it to their iPad Kindle app but was readable on the iPhone.
