The Datacolor ColorReader is a spectrophotometer for paint color that comes with a lens of about 3/4" in size. It can be used to select paint colors from material ranging from fabric to tile. Users can make color palettes by clicking on a measured colour from the fan deck and selecting add to palette. They can then select to add to an existing palette or create a new one. There is support for Dunn Edwards fan deck, but you need to ask a local Dunn Edwards supplier for the passcode. The device is not compatible with Chalk Paint or Metallic Paints. The reviews on the Datacolor ColorReader are mixed. Customers report that the device did not work for their needs and that it has caused them to repaint projects under warranty.
