These filter floss will decrease the filter output by a fraction. If you want to lower the flow output to your desired rate, you can use the flow valve on your Penn Plax filter.

In cascade1500, is one biofloss enough after the coarse sponge, followed by bioballs and ceramic rings?

I use a floss in the bottom of each basket. I have three baskets so bottom basket is floss under sponge, 2nd is charcoal on top of floss, and then a mix of bioballs and rings on top of floss. I change the floss monthly, rinse the rest which gets replaced every 6 months.
