The above-water basking dock is a great investment for your turtle, as it provides more space to swim around, a larger area to bask in, a clear "window" for the turtles, and also is more comfortable for the owners. The product is, however, a bit expensive and its assembly is a bit difficult. It is overpriced compared to other basking docks in the market, but it is the only above-water basking dock available. Customers have complaints about the ramp being steep and slippery, making it difficult for the turtles to climb. Some customers have reported that the ramp needs to be extended, and it requires a higher water level in the tank for turtles to get in. Customers with large turtles have also reported issues with the clear lid not staying in place that may lead to their turtle escaping. It is recommended that one covers the top if you add to the water level. Overall, customers for the most part are quite happy with the above-water basking dock as compared to an in-tank basking platform. It is supportive, spacious and gives the turtle a safe way of exploring the world. If you have an aquatic turtle, this product is a must-have, with some customization to make it work for your tank.
