- Question : How does one make a call?Answer : You initiate the call with your phone as you would normally. Then the conversation comes through the car speakers, but your phone is the microphone so it needs to be close. It isn't voice recognition unless that is part of your phone capability. For an iPhone, I suppose you could have Siri make the call for you, but I have not tried that. I use it in a car that I don't drive every day that just happens to be too old for bluetooth. The Roav gives me the capability for connection, but not necessarily all the bells and whistles of built-in car systems or something like Apple Play or Android Auto. But for less than $30, it's a real deal.
- Question : If I am listening to a CD rather than stereo, can I answer calls?Answer : If your phone is connected to the ROAV through Bluetooth, you need to either be connected to an FM station or an Aux line to hear the return audio from your conversation. So if you are listening to a CD, you must switch inputs to either the transmitting FM station or the attached Aux line to hear the caller.
- Question : When I call someone, with the phone to my ear, it still plays the ringing through my phone and on the radio. Can I turn that off?Answer : Yes, you can either turn off the Bluetooth on your phone and/or turn off the radio.
- Question : Can this charge two devices at the same time?Answer : Yes, it can charge two devices at the same time.
- Question : Does this transmitter connect to the car's radio via aux cord? My truck doesn’t support Bluetooth connection.Answer : If you have a place to plug it in (cigarette outlet) that is where it gets its power, you set the device to a radio station and set your vehicle to the same one (preferably a low strength or totally static station) and the device overrides it. The Bluetooth connection is between the device and your phone.
