    Answer : Yes it is complete including plug. Just cut hole in the wall , screw flat framework into wall and plug in. I wired mine to a thermostat so it comes on automatically when the humidity gets past where your set it for. Also the humidistat controls temperature settings. The thermostat DOES NOT come with the fan, but it is a good ad on.
  • Question : Do you need to reprogram after power outage? Or will it just restart to previously settings ?
    Answer : The extractor comes without the thermostat, it is purchased separately and manual programming is done with dial and. NO. You have to do new programming every time the power goes out
  • Question : Will this fan run at full speed when wired to a plug without a speed controller? i did this and it seems slow compared to same cfm gable mount.
    Answer : The ilg8sf18v will run in full speed when plug since this fan does. It have built in controller.
  • Question : All things being equal is this a good choice for a home attic is it overly noisy, do louvers flap? assuming i am an electrician and can add switch
    Answer : I purchased 3 of the 18” iliving shutter fans to replace static gable vents. The fans are not super quiet and can be heard in the room below them when they are running. In addition to a thermo switch in the attic. I also ran each fan to a light switch inside the house so I can shut them off manually if need be. As for shutter noise, where I live is very windy. The shutters flap when it’s windy outside, which honestly sucks because the noise they make keeps me awake at night. I attach a magnet to the shutters to keep the shutters closed at night for now and plan to install a switch-controlled solenoid on them soon that will block the shutters when the fan is off. Had I known they would flap freely in the wind, I would not have purchased these fans for that one reason.

    Answer : The max watts is 0.85.

    Answer : Video could not be loaded
  • Question : Do I need one to pull in fresh air and one to push out old air?
    Answer : You need a vent source of fresh air at least as large to allow flow. No fan needed

    Answer : Yes. The suggested opening is 19" according to the directions. The mounting part of the unit, that stays inside, is 21 inches square.

iLiving ILG8SF18V Ventilation Fans Editorial Review

The iLiving 18" Wall Mounted Exhaust Fan with automatic shutter and variable speed is a complete package including the plug. It is easy to install, requiring just a flat framework screwed into the wall and a hole cut out. While not super quiet, it is relatively well-balanced for its size. It can be wired to a thermostat, but the thermostat is not included with the fan. Program re-installation is needed after every power outage. The louvers flap in the wind, causing noise that disturbs sleep. The fan moves a decent amount of air for the space it is placed in, and its louvers are a huge benefit.
