The open handle design of the dumbbells allows for easy submerging at any level, thereby preventing neck or shoulder strain. The sculpt design is smaller and offers low resistance, making it ideal for people with hand or shoulder problems who need less resistance to avoid pain. However, if one can tolerate the high resistance of larger foam dumbbells, then those are recommended. These dumbbells are also lighter and less buoyant than foam weights but provide enough resistance for a good workout. The belt support is adjustable and easy to adjust when dry. However, a few customers have complained of poor quality design and materials of the belt buckle.
