The Filox 10 Iron, Sulfur, Manganese Removal Water Filter with Fleck DIGITAL 2510SXT - 1.0 cu. ft is an effective solution for removing iron, sulfur, and manganese from well water. The filter media needs to be changed every 5 years. The system comes with an instruction manual and 1" stainless bypass. It is not a water softener and should be used in combination with one if hard water is also present. The filter works great on water that has 6 grains hardness, 2.1 ppm of Iron, 6.5 pH and 113 ppm total dissolved solids. Customers who have used the product have mixed experiences with some having their iron and sulfur issues eliminated while others saw a reduction but not a complete elimination. Some customers have also experienced issues with calcium deposits and iron staining in their pipes. The system does require frequent backwashing and some customers have found it to use more water than they do. However, many customers found the installation process to be easy and straightforward.
