    Answer : The total cooking area of the Weber Q 1200 is 189 square inches.
  • Question : What type of fuel does this grill use?
    Answer : For grilling on-the-go, the Weber Q 1200 runs on disposable LP cylinders (not included). For at-home use an optional LP adapter hose for 20-lb. tanks is available as an accessory.

    Answer : Probably one a month if you only grill a couple pieces of chicken or steaks each time. More if you are cooking something big.
  • Question : Can I use this on the tailgate of my truck or does it burn too hot and will melt the plastic cover on the tailgate?
    Answer : The grill is designed for table top use and should be fine for your tail gate. If you are worried, put a couple of large tiles or some other fire resistant material under the grill.
  • Question : Is the the Q1200 model compatible with the Weber 6557 Q portable cart?
    Answer : The 6557 Q Portable Cart is absolutely compatible with Weber Q 1000 and 2000 series grills.
  • Question : Are the small cannisters removed when storing or moving the grill? If not, how is the LP secured when storing as in a camper?
    Answer : In the winter like now whereit might be up to two weeks between use, I leave the bottle connected. If I was to store it for an extended period, I would remove the bottle.
  • Question : I am deciding between q1000 & q1200. the two differences i see is that the q1200 has a thermostat and wings. are side wings an asset or a nuisance?
    Answer : Q1200 its perfect for me, because the side wings are very useful and allow you to cook in every surface. They are not super strong, but strong enough to hold all you need for your BBQ.
  • Question : I read that those two side tables are not detachable. Wanted to ask what if I unscrew those two bolts which I can see in side of the handles?
    Answer : If you are thinking to detach them for travel or storage, then there is no need. The wings will fold up to rest inside the cooled grill.
  • Question : Are the propane regulators on the 1200 better and longer-lasting than the cheaper Q100?
    Answer : I am not sure how to answer your question. I have had no problem with the propane. The unit I got has a temperature gauge on the front which I like and I try to keep it around 350 to 375 degrees.

    Answer : 16 X 13
  • Question : Does it come with a cover?
    Answer : The Q 1200 does not include a cover. It is compatible with cover # 7110.

The Weber Q1200 Table Top Grill is highly versatile and handy for cooking on table tops, at the beach, or outdoors. The small propane tanks can last up to a few cookouts, while the 20lb bottle with an adapter is handy when cooking for a week or more. The side wings are highly useful for providing additional space to cook or for placing utensils, and they can fold up and rest inside the cooled grill when not in use. The temperature gauge on the unit is highly impressive and emits a temperature of 350° to 375°. The propane regulators of the model are highly useful, and it can be used for baking and roasting. The dimensions of the grill gate are 16x13 inches, and the grill is highly compact and portable. The unit does not include a cover but is compatible with #7110.

  • The door does not have any sort of latch to keep it from falling open, contributing to the issue of the unit being unwieldy when packing it in or out of a vehicle
  • The Q1200 could be made of a better quality material
