A drainage system has a lot of water that will prevent the Triclopyr from being taken up by the roots. Triclopyr is meant to be taken up by roots from the top down, not bottom up. (Tree roots have a extreme leverage to crack and dislocate sewer pipes. Have your pipe relined, or get rid of the tree. After 30 years of annual roto rooting out roots, the roots fractured and dislocated the sewer main. The crew worked 12 hours to dig 8 feet deep to align the section and reline the pipe with a seamless core.)
