The Aanraku Frit Sifter 1 is a versatile product that comes in handy for various uses; customers describe using it to sort mealworms, soil, and crushed crystals. The package includes four sifting trays, each 3.75-inches tall and with screens 4.5-inches in diameter, with mesh sizes ranging from 2.7mm. When sorting mealworms, some customers recommend working with small amounts at a time and nesting all four sifters together. While the larger sifter (#1) sorts beetles and 98% of pupa, the other sifters (#2-4) sort out smaller worms, eggs, and the tiniest of baby worms. Some customers recommend adding silicone caulk inside around the wall and screen frame meeting to prevent glass or frit from getting mixed between batches. Although some customers report challenges with the sifters sticking inside each other, most find them well-made and bigger than anticipated.
