The clock uses a USB connector for the power plug. It can be plugged into either of the two USB slots on the back of the clock.

Do both the clock with the black case or the white case use the same blue lights?

The brightness is adjustable for your preference.

Does this alarm clock plug into the wall?

This is just a normal plug into the wall alarm clock. Not some crazy bells and whistles clock. The battery in the clock is only for memory in case your power goes out. It will not run the clock.

Does anyone know the width of this clock?

The width of this clock is 5 1/4 inches.

So if there is a power outage during the night, the alarm will not be heard even though it has a battery backup?

The time is very very easy to set up. No instructions needed for me.

Can the numbers be dimmed completely?

Yes. Can display from very bright to completely dark.

Does the alarm shut off automatically - and if so, does it automatically ring again?

No, you have to turn if off by pressing the snooze button to get 9 more minutes of sleep or turn the total alarm function off.

Is an AC power adapter included?

Yes, a power adapter is included and plugs in one of the USB ports.
