Then you move the stem to the position that changes the time setting with the hands, and move them so the date changes by one numeral to the correct date. If the time of day you're doing the changing is AM, you don't go past the 12 setting (noon). If the time of day is PM, go past 12 so the date will change when midnight rolls around.
