- Question : Are these shoes ok for city bicycling or should I purchase a different shoe. I want one with the stiff sole... any suggestions?Answer : These shoes should be fine for city bicycling. The sole is stiffer than an athletic shoe but not as stiff as a competition shoe (say with carbon sole). The sole has rubber tread that allows easy walking off the bike. They can be used with or without a cleat. These fit much narrower than 3 previous pairs of Pearl Izumi shoes that I have purchased. I returned mine because the standard fit was too narrow and I could not find a wide.
- Question : What type of bike pedal is most compatible with this shoe?Answer : SPD
- Question : Anyone with wide feet used these?Answer : I'm a 13 wide purchased the 48, the fit is perfect...
- Question : Can I use these shoes for city cycling without clamps or toe clips?Answer : If you have wide pedals, probably. Cleat box is recessed, so center will not contact pedals, just edges.
