Sky Watcher Refractors Editorial Review
The EvoGuide 50 DX – 50mm Guide Scope APO Doublet Refractor is a lightweight guide scope that is versatile and easy to mount. Customers agree that this telescope is great for astrophotography, specifically for wide-field photography, with the right setup. However, a field flattener is necessary for AP as straight out of the box the stars are elongated, especially towards the edges. Customers recommend pairing it with the Starizona Field Flattener, which is cheaper than the Starwatcher's. The helical focuser is usable but not the best, and upgrading it is not possible. For the price, customers are impressed with what they are getting.
