It is not meant to be used for fighting or hitting against anything. The blade is about 26" long, and the box is 34" long. One review mentioned that they received a defective product that could not be returned due to a mis-categorization. However, another customer commented that they were pleased with their purchase and found the lightsaber fun to play with, though the activation button was too sensitive.
