- Question : Can this be used as a heat deflector behind a BBQ?Answer : It will surely melt. Not safe. Thin plastic.
- Question : Would it withstand the heat of an apartment heating unit?Answer : I have had no problems with them. I would not use on an electric wall heater but ok on any forced air.
- Question : Does this product have magnets to attach to the unit? Could you attach magnets?Answer : It has no magnets. I suppose you could glue them on.
- Question : How does it attach?Answer : We used them in our hotel. Purchased 200 and they are great, they screw directly into the unit. You may need to bore pilot holes to attach.
- Question : How is the air director attached to the air conditioner? Is it designed to direct the air downward?Answer : The defuser is supposed to be screwed on but we were renting and they didn't want us to put holes in the unit (it was a below the window AC similar to what is found in hotel rooms). So, we attached it with double sided tape and that worked fine. On our installation, I don't think directing the airflow downward would have worked very well. As the original vents were directed upwards at about a 45 degree angle, attempting to direct it downward would have only sent the airflow out parallel to the floor. Hope this is helpful.

The B008LY88SS air deflector is a plastic shield that can be attached to a unit to deflect the air flow in a desired direction. Customers have found it to be useful for cooling their condo or deflecting cold air from a window air conditioner. However, some customers have received defective products, and the plastic shield may melt if exposed to high heat. Additionally, the deflector may not direct the air in the desired direction and may need to be modified or not used for specific purposes.
