The Zebra F-701 ballpoint pen has a sleek and modern design, made of mostly metal but with a plastic part where the upper and lower parts of the pen screw together, which happens to be the weakest part. Its refill cartridge is not pressurized, hence it won't write upside down, in contrast to the X-701 that has a pressurized barrel with an ink formulation to write upside down and in extreme temperatures. The pen writes smoothly with a texture, weight, balance, and signature writing, but the ink cartridge lasts for a very short period. Luckily, refills are cheap and can be purchased on Amazon or Walmart. There are some issues with the pen's design, however: the barrel comes apart easily in the pocket, and the screw-together part broke after only a few days of use. Despite the need for a refill that is sometimes difficult to find, the Zebra F-701 is considered to be a well-made, quality writing instrument that provides a professional look and feel with a nice weight that is often compared to much more expensive pens.
