- Question : Are these made from recycled memory foam mattresses? Sure does look like it.Answer : Not sure what the material is, very similar to memory foam, but honestly, this sponge is sooo good that whatever it is -works.
- Question : Where was this sponge designed? does it pass usa cosmetic regulated product standards? what harsh chemicals are involved?Answer : The sponge design was created in Michigan, USA, but manufactured in China. It is made of polyurethane foam. No Latex! Yes the factory used is regulated and passes USA cosmetic standards!
- Question : Is the product cruelty free?Answer : Not sure but this was my favorite sponge despite the 20.oo price tag.
- Question : How often do you need to replace this?Answer : I use it everyday and replace it about every 2 months it years after awhile from cleaning and using it. Love it it’s the only sponge I use now. Puts on my foundation easily and you don’t have to wet it to get a nice coverage.
- Question : How do you clean it?Answer : Get it damp with warm water and use a mild bar of soap to get it sudsy. Then rinse and repeat until water runs clear!
- Question : What’s an example of a mild soap?Answer : I have been using solid brush or sponge to clean my sponges. I make a lather in my hand and then massage into the sponge- works great.
- Question : I have tried washing the sponge a couple times with some soap and nothing is getting it clean. Anyone have a suggestion?Answer : I literally just took it in the shower with me and used my husband’s Ivory soap bar to clean it and it looks like new. It was super easy to clean, too! One more reason I adore this sponge.

This makeup sponge is made of polyurethane foam and is latex-free. It is manufactured in China but passes USA cosmetic standards. The sponge needs to be replaced every couple of months due to wear and tear. Cleaning is easy with warm water and mild soap. Reviews are mixed, with some saying the product was not as pictured, fell apart quickly, and made their makeup look patchy and uneven. Others said it made a noticeable difference in the application of their makeup, but some primers worked better with the sponge than others. Although the product is expensive, some customers felt it was worth the price, while others did not think it was worth it and would stick to using a Beauty Blender instead.
