Why is this vendor ripping people off with this price for an inexpensive moka pot?

The product is of good quality, it will last a long time. The price is very reasonable.

Can I make only 4 cups (or somewhere less than 6) if desired or must it be filled to its capacity in order to work properly?

It must be filled to the fill line to work properly. I use it everyday. I like strong Starbucks like coffee. It makes me either 1 cup or 2. I am sure you know to pour 1-1/2 “ in bottom of mug and fill with boiling water. Love this coffee maker.

Yes, it says made in Italy (6 cup version). I bought it in 2021.

Hi, after brewing in the Bialetti and taking it apart to clean, is it normal to find coffee, plus grounds, down in the water reservoir?

You'll always have some because it's a metal filter. But the grounds will be very fine. If they are coarse then there is a problem. But otherwise it's normal.

On my new Bialetti 1 cup pot the lid hinge is so tight that I need two hands to open it. Is this a defect? My 6 cup lid lifts easily with one hand.

I do not know. Mine is excellent and I can open it with one hand. I am a small person and I do not have any difficulty with opening the coffeemaker.

The rubber gaskets can be used to replace foam seal?

Yes, but make sure it’s the original replacement not the generic. I found with the aftermarket generic ones my ground still leaked through more into the espresso.

How do you keep the aluminum from oxidizing? Somebody gave me an old one that is just black & nasty, no way to clean.

I'm not sure one can prevent oxidation entirely, but occasionally I run the pieces through the dishwasher (make sure the top piece is on the top of the dishwasher, as you don't want plastic near the heating element. The water receptacle can go on the bottom. I wash with a combination of a Cascade Platinum Plus pod in the soap compartment and LemiShine (natural citric acid) in the second compartment. This takes away any smell and seems to clean up the metal, although the original shine is not restored. You may find some improvement, though.

The Moka 9 cups is made in Italy?

First your not showing the correct 9 cup. It states in the specs 'Made in Italy'. But to answer the question it says 'made in Italy' on the one like the picture.

What does mixing the coffee in the collector mean?

Kind like to stir your coffee before serving. Since your first coffee may be lighter than the second one. That's what I think. 😉
