- Question : Does anyone have the descaling instructions that came with this kettle? I lost mine :(Answer : Mix 50-50 water and white vinegar solution (250 ml or 1 cup of each). Bring to a boil and then let cool (at least 30 minutes). Rinse out kettle then fill with water and bring to a boil, discard water, then use.
- Question : If I understand correctly, it will essentially boil for 30 minutes if I turn it on and walk away because the keep warm feature can not be disabled?Answer : It doesn’t run constantly. I set mine to 205 (boiling point of water here) and it kicks back on at about 201 a couple of times in 30 minutes before it beeps and shuts off. I haven’t tried to turn it off. But it’s super nice in case you want a second cup of tea.
- Question : Does the kettle initially overshoot the requested temperature?Answer : In every instance the temperature rolls up to the set point, and promptly stops and holds.
- Question : Can the base be left plugged in when not in use?Answer : I leave mine plugged in. When the timer button is not lit it is off.
- Question : What part is aluminum? Manufacturers website lists that as a component of the kettle.Answer : The main unit is all aluminum.

It retains pre-set temperatures and is virtually silent when heating. It uses 120V and does not support 220V. The kettle has a good pour-over tip, ergonomic rubber handle, and a wider pour spout. Users report it heats up quickly and is easy to use. However, there have been reports of malfunctioning temperature sensors, which cause the kettle to overheat and boil the water excessively. Some users also report the temperature overshooting the set point, and the numbers on the base started only partially showing after years of use. The kettle is also reported to malfunction, and OXO does not always provide adequate customer service.
