Do I need velco strips or will the sweatband stay in place on its own?

The sweatbands come with soft velcro. Your helmet should have hard velcro on the inside forehead. If not, you would need to get velcro from a hobby shop and glue it in.

I use it on my Reebok goalie mask and it fits fine. You need to have Velcro in your helmet for it to stay in place. You may need to expand the width of the helmet because of its thickness.
