- Question : What kind of steel is the blade? Carbon? Also does it lock when closed?Answer : The steel is 3CR13. The blade locks open, but does not lock when closed. However, the blade stays closed very well. We have not had any comments about the blade opening while in someone’s pocket.
- Question : Can you put a “gut hook” on the blade?Answer : Hi, sorry, but we currently do not offer a “gut hook” on the blade. Please let us know if you have any other questions!
- Question : Does the knife come presharpened?Answer : Yes and is sharp right out of the box. the wife surprised me with it on Christmas and I have had it on me ever since. I have used it mainly at work opening boxes and it is still sharp.
- Question : Can you engrave the blade too?Answer : Sorry, we do not engrave the blades.
- Question : How do you keep the blade locked when opened?Answer : This knife is an “assisted opening” knife, and is designed to be opened using that feature. To use the assisted opening feature, press on the small black metal tab that protrudes above the handle while the blade is closed. When you press that metal tab, the blade will snap open quickly and lock into place. If the blade does not lock, you may need to open and close it several times to break it in, or place a few drops of oil on the blade hinge point.
