These are authentic, I purchased one in UN Blue, its amazing, has plenty of storage my my daughters school supplies, if you are looking for a trendy backpack, that has space, buy this!!!

Are the straps on the Classic as sturdy as the ones on the Laptop bag? Could they support the weight of a heavy laptop?

The classic straps are definitely strong enough to hold a heavy laptop. I have carried my laptop and all of my textbooks in mine. The only thing is that there is no padding on the straps so they can dig into your skin especially if your shoulders are bare. The bags have a really great capacity overall and I would definitely recommend them!
