    Answer : This element is not a bypass. You can purchase a cartridge that does not have the filter and put it into the filter housing the same way as the filter is installed.

The Frigidaire FPPWFU01 PurePour PWF-1 Water Filter is specially designed for Frigidaire 2020 and newer refrigerator models. It uses activated carbon filter and is rated by NSF 42 and 53, and 401. It's important to note that this filter will remove chlorine but not fluoride. Additionally, purchasing this filter can be expensive, but one customer suggests buying in bulk to save money. It is easy to install, and scheduled deliveries can keep the filter coming when needed. However, some customers have experienced issues with a plastic or chemical taste in their water or high TDS readings even after flushing the filter according to instructions.
