- Question : Does it work on a 2001 dodge ram?Answer : Yes. Will work on all vehicles sold in the U.S. since 1996. All of these vehicles have a female plug, usually underneath the steering wheel. Just plug scanner in this plug, turn ignition to ON, turn on scanner, read codes, read manual. Great for erasing the check engine light if code shows no mechanical problem. I have two of them, because one seems to be on loan all of the time. Still worth the investment.
- Question : Is the MS300 applicable to airbag diagnostics?Answer : You need OBDII WITH SRS to see airbag codes. Airbag codes are not part of the OBDII requirement so it is an additional module and those scanners cost more. (you can add ABS and Transmission codes to the list of modules you may have to add) You wont find any handhelds that do all that for $20.

This has allowed me to reset an airbag in my Pontiac grand am, gave me the code to a fuel delivery issue on my f-150, and even helped me with my girlfriends elantra when it was overheating. It won't fix your bad head gasket, or reset your need for new brake pads, just a tool to point you in the right direction via code
- Question : Does this work with my BMW 1996 328i and can it take out the check engine light?Answer : It should work on ur 96 bmw. It will take out the check engine light. But if u do not fix the problem, the check engine light will come back on.
- Question : Where is it made?Answer : I can't find anywhere in the manual or on the item where it was manufactured. My guess is Taiwan or somewhere like that. It works very well for me. I use it frequently on my 2003 Ford Focus and on my 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan. The manual includes the codes which you can also bring up on Google if you don't have the manual handy.
- Question : Does it read any transmission codes?Answer : In its user manual there are several codes of transmission in the part 'OBDII Generic DTC Definitions' such as P0218 transmission overtemp, P0819 up/down shift sw transmission range correlation, P0894 transmission comp. sliding, P0897 transmission fluid deteriorated, and P0898/899 transmission ctrl. mtl request circuit low/high. But my vehicle did not have such problems, then I am not 100% sure it can actually read those codes.
