ProGrip Straight Edge Clamps are a great addition for woodworking projects, ideal for cutting large sheets of plywood and dado slots. The clamps come in 3 sizes: 24, 36 and 50 inches, do not have a storage bag, and are 5/8" thick. The plastic rulers are not attached well, but double-sided tape can be used to keep them in place. The clamp rails accept many different accessories like hold-down clamps, stops, and homemade sleds for a saw and/or router. These clamps can clamp well for glue drying but tend to loosen up while cutting. They are relatively straight. Some customers added 80 grit skateboard tape to the textured plastic clamp edge to make them tighten more. The clamps can simplify cutting works and can be used to cut perfectly straight dado grooves with a router. However, using only one straight edge can cause kick out and climb cut excursions. Using two straight edges create a dado jig that locks the router on track, preventing kick out and excursions, and potentially allowing a full-depth cut in one pass. The black release tabs on the side stick out and get in the way of the saw blade. The ProGrip clamps are sturdy once clamped, but the release tabs can make them difficult to handle.
