- Question : How do you charge with diatom earth ? Tried for over an hour, would not charge.Answer : I put the DE in a jar of warm water shake it up to mix it then place the filter in a large bucket that you can fill enough to submerse the filter and turn it on. Pour the de solution in and wait until the water is clear then you can use the filter in your tank. Works awesome. Make sure you have the foam ring under the filter inside the canister.
- Question : What micron size does it filter? Bacteria, algae, etc are too small for most filters to remove.Answer : I put it in my algae bloomed tank and it fixed the problem.
- Question : I believe I may be missing two pieces one that allows me to mount the filter and the extension for the water displacement tube. Can someone tell me whAnswer : They should be in box Little parts bag.

- Question : Can you put a spray bar on this filter?Answer : No, as there is not an adapter for one to connect to.
- Question : Can I remove the motor and impeller from the shroud? I am able to pull out the motor using by about an inch but it feels stuck - wanted to confirm I cAnswer : Yes the turret and shroud separate from each other first, then you can pull the motor out, and remove the impeller.
- Question : How much carbon does it hold?Answer : Inside the filter is a tube about 6 inches long and about 1 inch across. Inside the tube are two chambers. Filling each one would total about a half cup of carbon.
