Does this use standard X-acto type blades?

Yes, they are exactly the same sizes as X-acto.

Is there any replacement blades and how many per different blade?

No replacement blades. You get what you see. They are excellent quality.

Can you cut rubber with these?

Although I have not used the knife blades to cut rubber, I don't see why they won't.

Is this set good for whittling?

The set is better suited for precision work, but can work well with soft woods like balsa, bass, and pine.
