    Answer : You should use the correct terms (MB/s vs Mb/s). Macbook Pro 2013 has two Thunderbolt 2 and two USB 3 Type A ports. Thunderbolt 2 ports have transfer speed up to 20 Gb/s equal to 2.5GB/s or 2500MB/s. You'll need a USB C-Thunderbolt 2 adapter or cable to maximize the read/write capability of the SanDisk. The USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type A port on the Macbook Pro 2013 has transfer speed up to 5 Gb/s equal to 625MB/s.

    Answer : No. It would easily fit in your shirt pocket and you might forget it was there. This is a very fast SSD external hard drive.

    Answer : No, the speed of the drive does not matter. Basically, the hard drive will work with max transfer speed provided by your motherboard.

    Answer : It doesn’t get “burn your hand” hot. You can place it on top of something that will conduct the heat away from it or tilt it on a phone cradle to get some convective heat removal.
  • Question : How long can I leave this unplugged to power without losing data stored in it?
    Answer : You can leave it unplugged forever. You won't lose whatever is stored on it.
  • Question : I see some concerns about heat. Can I use this as a permanently plugged-in drive?
    Answer : Yes, you can. It gets warm just like every other external drive, but it does not get hot from being plugged in.
  • Question : Does the software provide auto backup?
    Answer : Not in my experience. The software allows Apple and Windows users to access the storage. This is a storage device. There may be other software available that would allow you to set up automatic backup to it, but I don't use it and do not know if such software is available.
