Dario Argento's Trauma from 1993 is a lesser-known but enjoyable gory film with an undisciplined and clumsy script, good and bad ideas, and terrible acting. The plot starts with a séance where a medium identifies a killer among those present. The film contains Argento favorites of ill-fated lizards, elevator-assisted decapitations, and a twist that hinges on a misinterpretation of what you think you see. The movie stars a young Asia Argento, and many have seen this movie, but they wouldn't be so nice with a 5-star rating. However, the movie is worth watching or adding to your collection. The film plays well among the collection of an older sister who is a huge Asia Argento fan. The DVD release is better than expected, the delivery is on time, and satisfaction is guaranteed. Experts believe that this film is more for an Argento completist since many elements of the later elaborated and psychedelic movies are very much visible in this. The visual mastery of color that was such a feature of his earlier films reduced to a bland palette; however, Anchor Bay's Region 1 NTSC DVD is generous on extras, including four scenes deleted from the US version. Overall the 'look and vibe' in the movie are quite screwed up, and love it or hate it; it will leave viewers speechless and on the edge of their seat.
