Hello, yes there's a switch box. On the back of the hat, there is a tiny 'black' push button on the outside of the hat. Also, make sure you remove the 'safety' tab from between the batteries. The safety tab is a small thin piece of plastic, about 1/2'' long. Let me know, if you found the on switch on your hat. Your hat also has three light options too.

The hat did not give a size option. No, the lights are not sewn in. Horsehair, net, type material is sewn around the perimeter of the brim of the hat, and the lights are running through this net casing. Hope is was helpful
