Answer : The information on temperature and humidity is displayed using the digital screen and the unit needs to be plugged in an outlet to function.

Answer : The velcro backing is safe to use on the terrarium and does not cause any damage upon removal.

Answer : The unit can monitor temperatures between 20-120°F and humidity levels between 0-100%.
Question : Is there any way to set calibration?
Answer : Yes, pry off the clear lid at the ends and remove the paper with the coils on it. Turn the whole coil on the back to match another known, properly calibrated set of gauges. Set it down for 5 minutes, adjust again and again, if necessary, to get it perfectly calibrated to your other gauges. Then put it back together.
Question : Do you need one for a veiled chameleon?
Answer : Yes, you need a thermometer + hygrometer due to their high humidity needs. The zoo med analog style(2) dial face does a great job.
Question : What is the top temperature for a thermometer for a baby bearded dragon tank?
Answer : The temperature gauge ranges from -20f to 120f. I find that the thermometer on this unit seems to be fairly accurate, but the hygrometer is questionable.
Question : Do I need two of these for each side of my baby ball python's tank?
Answer : Depending on the size of the tank, if it's larger than a 50 gallon, then it's recommended. If it's a 50 gallon or smaller, just put it in the middle.

Answer : Either side is fine, but it's recommended to put it on the warmer side just to be safe.

Answer : Clean the glass first. Put it on the back wall of the hot side of the tank or use more Velcro tape or mounting squares to replace it.

Answer : No, it works fine near the top of a scorpion tank.
Question : Can this be calibrated?
Answer : No, it works on a constant temperature and does not have any kind of measurement tool. You can only use an independent thermometer to control temperature, but this tool keeps a constant temp once it is on for some time.
Question : For a 55 gallon tank for a baby bearded dragon, would I need one of these on each side of the tank?
Answer : It's recommended to have one on each side of the tank, so that you can assure that the dragon will get a good thermal gradient.
