Question : Does anyone know the difference between the airhead orb and airhead the bob?
Answer : Both the ORB and BOB are for 1-4 riders with a 60 ft, 4100 lb break strength rope. The Airhead website specs the BOB length X width (deflated) at 38in. X 27in. The website does not provide size specs for the ORB but it has approximately the same deflated measurements as the BOB. The product packaging says the ORB is 39in. X 21in. inflated. The BOB comes with a nylon cover and straps that wrap around the ball for towing. The ORB does not have a nylon cover and the rope runs through the center of the PVC ball. Regarding the BOB, some have issues with the zipper unzipping and the nylon cover retaining water which creates more drag. The BOB nylon cover may provide additional protection for the bladder (not sure of the gauge) but the 30 gauge PVC the ORB is constructed from is very thick and durable and can take a good beating. It also seems the rope running through the ORB ball would put less stress on the ball as opposed to it being constantly squeezed by the nylon straps (BOB), especially in a jerk or hard yank situation.
Question : Is it possible to deflate it, in order to take it on a plane?
Answer : Yes. It has the quick valve system. Easy to inflate and deflate.
Question : Which end of ball faces the boat? Is it directional?
Answer : The orb is shaped like a football. Each narrow end faces both the boat and the tube. I’ve been quite satisfied how it works.
Question : If you want to tow two tubes, would you need two ORB’s?
Answer : No. We only use one orb for our twin tube--one rope from boat to orb then 2 ropes coming off orb.
Question : Can you use this with a jet ski??
Answer : Yes but the orb is big not sure how u would store it when not in u
Question : Has anyone used it waterskiing?
Answer : No. I wouldnt advise that. For water skiing, there's no need for this item since the rope is higher out of the water. It would probably cause extra weight as well.
Question : Is it possible to use this towable ball with a bungee tow rope? thanks
Answer : Yes! You cant replace the rope so you will have extra long rope.
Question : Can the position of the ball be adjusted?
Answer : Hello, sorry for the delay. If adjustable. Thanks, Greetings Thebigonestore
Question : Do you need any quick connects to tie to the tube or the y rope hooked to the back of the boat?
Answer : Comes with everything needed to connect to your boat and your rope.
