- Question : Which surfaces can COLOR COAT be applied to?Answer : COLOR COAT can be applied to vinyl, carpet, properly prepped and primed metal, velour, and plastic.
- Question : What is the coverage area of the 12 oz Aerosol Can?Answer : The 12 oz Aerosol Can covers approximately 10 square feet.

- Question : Does this work on carpet, or is there another product for that?Answer : Used it for my 911 carpet worked fine still there
- Question : Would this product work and last on a motorcycle seat?Answer : My opinion is it would work fine, but I don't know how long it will last. Is the bike stored inside, out of the sun? if well cared for, you might get 2 years out of a coating. I used it on kick panels and dash vinyl, and it's been a year with no noticeable fade or wear - but there is no 'butt-wear' on those parts.
- Question : Do I need to buy any prep products with color coat? I am painting the front dash in my jeep. (painting it the same color)Answer : I don't think any prep is needed other than making sure the dash is super clean. SEM may be able to give you some advice.
- Question : I have heard that the color in sem's color coat has been inconsistent for people who bought the same color later on, is this true?Answer : I have bought SEM colors at different times and it has always been consistent. Use directions and it will do fine.
- Question : Can I use on leather?Answer : I'm 99% sure that it will work on leather, but the manufacturers technical data sheet does not mention that this is suitable for leather. Interestingly enough, they do have a 'Leather and Vinyl Prep' product to go with this product. I would contact SEM Automotive directly and ask them just to be sure.
- Question : What's the difference between the aerosol and the color coat?Answer : Are you asking about SEM 38353 Plastic Prep - 12 oz? I use the prep to clean and etch so the color coat will stick better - it does slow the dry time.
