- Question : Is this sturdy enough to troll with? I have outriggers and I'd love to get two rods off the deck for lines furthest out on the riggers...Answer : It depends on your installation. If you take care to make sure it's assembled well, then I'd say yes, you can add a couple rod holders to the vertical rails, as I did on mine, and troll away.
- Question : If it can be 'trimmed to desired width and height' - is that by hack-sawing off to a shorter height & disposing of the excess?Answer : Yes, you are correct. But take into account the angle of the mounting brackets, when installed on the gunnel of the boat. You don't want to make a square cut to attach the legs to these mounting brackets. The cut, for the width, can be a straight 90 degree cut. But the legs have to be cut at an angle to match the mounting brackets.
- Question : Are the horizontal mounting points a fixed position or connnected with a set crew or perhaps a self tapping screw??Answer : The horizontal braces have a through bolt... I bought mine and cut it apart and customized it for what i needed...
- Question : Is the rack stable enough to mount wakeboard tower speakers? I was looking at small 5' 6 lbs each.Answer : It's designed for rods/reels and works great for that. It would probably work for speakers but isn't designed for it.
- Question : The black base on mine broke. Where do I order new ones?Answer : Call the company or go online and contact them
- Question : Are the tubes the same width and strength as a Bimini top from china? Not the width of the tube but the width of the aluminum? strong or flimsy?Answer : No they are thicker and stronger. I’ve had mine going on 3 years and I have 6 rods and 2 lights mounted on it and I fish in the ocean, with chop, and it’s held up strong. My buddy has a radar mounted on his too. I recommend using stainless steel bolts, 2 washers on each bolt , lock washers and nuts to secure the leg posts. Do that and this thing becomes strong.
- Question : What material is used for the mounting brackets that affix the ppo rod holders to the aluminum tubing?Answer : Plastic rod holders, everything else is aluminum
- Question : Is the rocket launcher sturdy enough to be in the upright position when trailering the boat down the road?Answer : Although I have not trailered it in the upright position, I feel that it would probably be fine. Keep in mind that the mounting base is made of hard plastic but I imagine it would take more abuse on the water then traveling down the road. All in all it's pretty solid for what it is, and remember it's not $1,000 Arch. I'm very happy with it so far.
- Question : Mounting base has a bevel. Is it intent to mount base as is so that the uprights not straight up?Answer : Yes should have a slight angle towards rear
