Answer: Personally I consider a size 10 to be ultralight. A size 20 is light. Alaris does not come in a size 10 but the Okuma Ignite comes in a 10. Great little reel too. -

Is the line ratings for braid or mono?
Answer: The line ratings listed are for monofilament. -

ALS30 or 40 for surf fishing?
Answer: It would depend on what you are fishing for, but I like the 40. -
