The Rit Dye is a popular choice for revamping old clothes with generally positive results. The product is transparent, so the gaps caused by bleach damage cannot be filled in, resulting in different shades or discoloration. The dye cannot be used on carpet or Tyvek, but is otherwise versatile, and can even work on FRN scales. The powder or liquid dye should be used according to the weight of the dry fabric, and colors might not come out as expected if used inappropriately. Overall, the product seems to do what it is supposed to, with some users achieving desired results while others ending up with a different hue to the one they were hoping for. It is highly recommended to use color remover prior to dye for even coverage. The Rit Care Team is always available to address any issues after the fact as well.
