Honey Nut Cheerios are a popular breakfast cereal option that are now available in a gluten-free version. However, it is important to note that the oats used in this product are mechanically separated and have shown to contain actual gluten from wheat. Additionally, oats contain a prolamin called avenin which can cause a gluten-like reaction in some people with Celiac disease. Despite this, the cereal is labelled as gluten-free on the front of the box. The product contains 9g of sugar and 3g of fiber per serving. Most customers enjoy the taste of Honey Nut Cheerios and appreciate the availability of a gluten-free option. There is also a non-GMO version of Cheerios available, but it is only found in the yellow box of the original Cheerios variety.
