According to the FAQ, you can use Schmetz or Organ brand needles, Janome's needles, and a higher quality thread, such as Guttermans. This machine is not suitable for Singer products. A downside is that the foot pedal cord is short, so options for placement are limited. Reviews are mixed, with some praising the ease of use, and others being disappointed. One customer had difficulty with the needle jamming frequently after sewing only a couple of inches. Another customer returned the product due to a lack of a threader. Some customers appreciated the durability of the machine and had good experiences with the Janome brand. Some had concerns about the plastic components of the machine, which may lead to durability concerns over time. The lettering component of the machine proved useless for one customer.
